Qualifying for Workman’s Comp Disability Benefits, and what that means to You.
If you are hurt on the job and cannot work for an extended period of time, here are some points to consider:
- If injured, one qualifies for workers’ comp disability benefits ONLY if “….an employee has a complete and permanent inability to perform any type of work as a result of an injury, and has an impairment rating.”
- Benefits are paid as long as total disability continues, but these benefits are subject to offsets and/or termination, which can be explained to you by your attorney.
- Permanent total disability benefit payments may be reduced if it is shown that the injured worker has recovered sufficiently to return to work.
